Basic Supply List:
(bring to all classes unless noted otherwise)
Assorted stencil brushes, chip brushes, cloth rags, water container, apron or paint shirt, scissors, Sharpie marker, sea sponge, assorted artist's brushes, notebook, zip lock bags, ruler, hair dryer, badger brush, pen, pencil.

September 8, 2008 - ArmorMetallix

Class cost: $5.00

Class begins promptly at 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Important NTA Meeting following until 9:00pm
Tools required: Basics, plus trowels

ArmorMetallix Launch for NTA sponsored by Sherwin Williams:

Ed Mattingly and Nate Rathjen of Roman Architectural Finishes will share various methods of using the new ArmorMetallix paint. The product will be demonstrated as a paint coating, as an undercoat for glaze and mixed in with glazes. Plenty of product will be available for testing and samples. As always left over and un-opened product will be raffled off. Kyle Hinners of Sherwin Williams will cover the newly released color trends from Sherwin Williams color marketing team.

November 10, 2008 - The Plaster Center

Time: 6:00 pm

(in the Hirshfield building, right across the street from International Market Square)

We will have a short business meeting at 6:00pm.

Following the meeting, The Plaster Center will show us around, familiarize us with their products, introduce new products, and let us play with products. It should be a GREAT meeting! Hope you ALL can make it.


December 8th

Time: 6:00 pm
Location: West Lutheran High School in Plymouth

This will be a fun, informative gathering (no registration needed). Everyone is welcome to bring their portfolios, samples or presentation portfolios. This will be a great venue to swap ideas and information.

Jen Huehns will also have a "van sale".

We will plan on going out to dinner at Bonfire after the meeting for our Holiday gathering. Everyone is welcome!


December 17th - Variance Finishes

Unfortunately the vendor for Variance had to cancel his trip to Minneapolis. They won't be back until January.

January 12, 2009 - Japanese Dogwood Floral Finish

Class Cost: $20.00

Tools required: Basics, plus trowels or Japan scrapers
Location: West Lutheran High School, Plymouth, MN
Instructor: Jennifer Huehns, NTA President and owner of Jennifer Rebecca Designs

Learn how to create the unique look of Japanese Dogwood Floral Finish with an embossed, textured pattern of stylized flower using Modello's Japanese Floral pattern. You will learn to incorporate multiple layers of material with pattern, texture and stain. This technique can be easily adapted just by changing the colors and designs used. Each student will receive the Modello Master Methods illustrated step-by-step instructions.

Architectural Enhancements

Your Decorative and Faux Solutions Provider Architectural Enhancements will demonstrate their product line of concrete finishing. They offer the full spectrum of overlayment products and offer any number of finishes from overlayments, faux, staining and sealing. This will not be a hands-on class as we do not have the time for drying. But they will talk about their training seminars available at their studios here in Annandale, MN. April 13th - NTA Philanthropic Project, School Mural

Time: start 12:00 pm until project is complete
Location: West Lutheran High School, Plymouth

NTA will help the school that accommodates us every month. NTA will help the drama department with this year’s stage design—a backdrop for "The Sound of Music". We are asking each member to volunteer their time.


May 11, 2009 - Stoney Brook Wallcoverings
