EXECUTIVE BOARD DESCRIPTIONS:President: The President will preside over all chapter and executive board meetings and will approve all meeting agendas, fundraisers, and other business of the Chapter. It is the president's responsibility to supply relevant information to the Newsletter Editor. The President will also post e-mails and notices regarding upcoming general meetings, roundtable meetings and classes. The President will be the representative of the chapter to the National League. In addition, the President is responsible for submitting the chapter's annual report to National and relaying information from National to the chapter. The President will also approve any treasury spending to various committees for chapter business. LIASON to Philanthropic Chair & Fund Raiser Chair. Vice President: The Vice President will act in the President's absence at any meetings. The Vice President is also responsible for coordinating board members, overseeing activities of the committees and acting as a communications liaison between committees. This liaison work is especially important between the membership coordinators, treasury, and newsletter editor to make sure the membership list matches the mailing list and that said members dues are current. The Vice President will also be a back-up contact to National to assure that appropriate communications are being relayed to the general membership. LIASON to Roundtable Coordinator Secretary: The Secretary will take the minutes of the business at all chapters and executive board meetings. The Secretary is also responsible for providing the minutes to the newsletter editor in a timely manner to ensure they are sent in the subsequent mailing. The Secretary shall prepare and send an annual summation of those minutes to the National Office. LIASON to Historian Treasurer: The Treasurer will do all bookkeeping for the chapter, keeping an accurate record of all monies received and dispersed. The Treasurer is responsible for banking matters related to the treasury. The Treasurer shall collect dues from our new and renewing members. LIASON to Adele Bishop Chair. Education: The Education Chair will take recommendations from the general membership to plan and secure hands-on classes, lectures, and demonstrations for every meeting. The Education Chair is responsible for securing the class, communicating with the teacher regarding supplies and expenses reimbursement. If class fees are required in advance or at the meeting, the Education Chair will make the necessary arrangements in concert with the treasurer. The Education Chair will submit necessary write-ups to the President and Newsletter Editor in a timely manner so information can be passed on to the general membership. LIASON to Publicity Chair. Memberships: The Membership Coordinator will be the person to whom new members will be directed via phone, e-mail, or in person at our meetings. This coordinator will be responsible for keeping an up to date list of (dues current) members and distributing this list to members on a quarterly basis as updates commonly occur. LIAISON to Social Chair & LIASON to Computer/Online Resource. COMMITTEES:Newsletter Editor: This person is responsible for accumulating information from the President and other members, and compiling it into a newsletter and distributing it, as well as emailing a copy to the Webmaster. Business Roundtable: This coordinator will secure dates with the members for our quarterly roundtable meeting. This person will reserve the space for the meeting, organize any guest speakers and lead the meeting. The Roundtable Coordinator reports to the Vice President. Publicity: The Publicity Chair is responsible for sending out press releases about chapter activities, arranging for displays of chapter work or demonstrations, and publishing chapter background and information in local papers. The Publicity Chair will also organize the publication of chapter brochures and our business directory. The Publicity Chair reports to Education Chair. Computer/Online Resources: This Coordinator Position will secure a domain name and hosting company and then develop an NTA web site and promote it via online sources. This person will acquire information from our members, officers and chairpersons and post it accordingly. Outreach: Our Outreach Chair will assist in the development of literature and mailings to gain new members for our chapter. This chair will work closely with the membership coordinator and publicity chair to accomplish work toward membership throughout the region. Philanthropy: The Philanthropy Chair, with input from the general membership, will research and develop a philanthropic project for the chapter's benevolent work. This Chairperson will organize member volunteers and be the liaison between the chapter and the charitable organization for which we do work. This Chairperson will also submit information, photos and write-ups of the project to the Publicity Chair. The Philanthropic Chair reports to the President. Adele Bishop Scholarship: Submit essay for the Adele Bishop Scholarship to National. In addition, this person will delegate or create themselves a display board of the philanthropic project for the annual SALI convention. The Adele Bishop Scholarship Chair reports to the Treasurer. Fundraising: In order to acquire additional financial resources for our chapter, the Fundraising Chair will research, plan, organize volunteers, and put into action fundraising activities. The Fund Raiser Chair reports to the President. Historian: Organize all past meeting notes and newsletters in chronological order. Photograph the meetings and special chapter events and scrapbook them as well. The Historian reports to the Secretary. Teachers: If you have a special technique to share with the membership, you can take the opportunity to share it with the rest of the chapter. You will write up a description of your project and submit it to the Education Chair. After submitting your receipts for expenses, you will be reimbursed for your supplies. In some cases, we may require the class fee checks from the members to clear before your reimbursement. Social Coordinator: The Social Coordinator will organize our December Party and our June Family Picnic. The Social Coordinator will pick the locations, send out e-vites, and do any necessary shopping prior to the event. The Social Coordinator reports to the Membership Coordinator. Committee Members: For most of the committees listed above, we also need people to assist with the duties. Dual chairpersons are also acceptable. |
