Terri Roberts

Terri Roberts of Minneapolis, Minnesota is owner of Addy's Room. "From Art to Finish", her primary focus is to create unique and artistic finishes for you so that your life is enriched by your surroundings. Terri is a visionary with a true fervor for decorative finishes.

Her passion and ability to create began as a child and has been developing ever since. In high school, she began faux painting theatre sets and props. During college and into her career as a teacher, she explored and produced various styles of art. Through college and continuing education, she has extensive training in painting, drawing, and faux finishing. Terri has traveled through various parts of the country to learn and teach new techniques. She is currently the President of The Northern Territory Artisans Association and former Vice President from 2009-2011.

As an artistic surface designer, Terri offers a full line of sophisticated finishes on walls, floors, counter tops, cabinets, furniture, and accessories. Using plasters, paints, decorative concrete, metallics and mixed-mediums, she creates faux and decorative finishes as well as custom murals and fine art. Kathleen Sakry, ASID Industry partner

It all started in 1995 when Kathleen became an apprentice to a fellow decorative artist. As she gained in skill, it was apparent that this was the career she wanted to pursue. Having diligently studied under one of the leading decorative art institutes, Faux Effects International, she gained the knowledge and skills to carry through on large projects nationally. She has continued her education at, The Minneapolis School of Art and Design, and The Atelier of Classical Realism.

As proficiency continues to increase, Kathleen has taken national recognition and awards. In addition she has been a columnist for Builder Architect Magazine. The articles have been informative and inspiring to many in the field. She has appeared as a guest on the Discovery Channel for home decorating programs and has been called upon as a guest speaker, for the radio. The new challenges that appear almost daily add fuel to her enthusiasm.

Sharon Wagner

I have always done art. I have been trained in many mediums. I have been doing murals for 6 years now full time. Before that I did custom canvas art work for 20 years. I really enjoy the planning stages with the client when setting up a mural, then bringing their ideas to life on the wall.

I also do some fine finishes and painting. Here I also help in the color selection too. There is little else that feels as rewarding as starting with a clean slate and leaving a home full of color and touches just for them. I would look forward to helping you make your home different from anyone else's.

Designer Peg Malanaphy has earned an interior design degree from the University of Minnesota and has continued to further her selection of creative finishes by an ongoing study of faux and decorative finishing with the many professional finishing schools around the nation. Peg is dedicated to delivering the utmost pleasure to clients whose interests range from simple soft blending of colors to more dramatic European style finishes on walls, ceilings, cabinets and furniture. "One of my goals is to help people fall in love again ... with their surroundings that is. Often that happens by simply refreshing those spaces around you!"

Pam Kruschke

Pam has more than 20 years working closely with clients and designers assisting in custom paint selection, faux finishes, murals and more. She has previously worked in award winning ASID Showcase homes and worked extensively in one of the 2010 Remodelers Dream Homes. Painting is her passion and a satisfied client is always her end goal.

She is certified in Home Redesign and Staging, working with clients own furniture and accessories, and adding some final touches, also staging a home to effectively prepare for a sale.

Sally Augustin has been self-employed in the service industry for 30 years, painting professionally for the last 13. The key to success as a small business owner is the combination of skill in her craft and special attention to her client's needs. Her goal is to provide a finished product that meets her client's expectations in terms of quality and budget. In addition she understands the importance of maintaining a neat work site, assuring the project does not unduly disrupt the rhythm of the home. Whether it's a large or small job, straight painting, faux finishes, or Italian plaster, she brings enthusiasm and a can-do attitude to the job. USEPA lead Certified and Insured.

Mave Alft

I "married" the painting business when I met my husband and business partner at Stout State University. My husband's family were the owners of Alft Decorators which was established in the year 1946. Mostly self taught at that stage, I began stenciling in 1972, co-managed a retail paint store, and managed a home decor/stencil shop for 20 years. Teaching stencil and faux finish classes and an occasional decorative painting filled my days until 2001, when the retail operations were sold. At that time, we downsized from 14 employees to a partnership of two and now offer complete interior painting services specializing in decorative paint and plaster.

A member of IDAL(previously SALI) since the 1980's, I have studied under Melanie Royals, Kathy Carroll, Gary Lord, Donna Phelps, Pro Faux, Mindy Harrell, and Kathy Wear. I am constantly on the lookout for the newest trends and styles in decor and LOVE to customize any project to create a unique environment that reflects my clients personality!

My love of art came early as I was surrounded by artists and creatives throughout my childhood. Following and encouraging my natural skill, I earned a Studio Art Degree from the University of Minnesota, Morris. I discovered the world of faux finishing after watching a few other professionals in action while working as a specialty cabinet finisher. I knew then that faux finishing was what I wanted to do with my career. I've enjoyed taking class after class since then and rapidly growing my skill set. Plasters and murals are quickly becoming favorite projects of mine, but I expect my top favorite projects to grow and change as I create new finishes.

Decorative Concrete Artist, Jean Eaton, is the co-owner of Granicrete Minnesota with showrooms in Minneapolis and Albert Lea, MN. Granicrete products transform existing counter tops, interior/exterior floors, shower walls, patios, driveways and garage floors into a one of a kind art! She has trained under artists Susan Anspah (Faux Effects) and David Rarrick (Aurastone). Granicrete Minnesota works with residential and commercial clients. Granicrete and Aurastone concrete products and Meoded plaster products are sold by Granicrete Minnesota. Her business was selected to do three counter tops in the 2008 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition home and the floor of the National Vitality Center in 2009. In 2011 the award winning Granicrete product was given the National Sanitation Foundation certification. Jean is a member of NTA, IDAL and NARI of MN where she is on the Education committee. She holds a B.A. in Business & Textiles from the University of Northern Iowa.

Barb Kuester

Simply Interiors was founded in the fall of 1994 by Barb Kuester. Since that time the business has grown to include many design aspects including wonderful wall finishes as well as cabinet and furniture finishes. She will be personally involved in your project from the design phase to the completion of the project.

In the summer for 2007 Barb participated in the Extreme Makeover Home addition that took place in Minnetonka, Minnesota airing on television November 2007.

Barb recently added realtor to her resume. She is working with Edina Realty in Prior Lake, Minnesota. Her love of homes is evident in everything she does.

Darla Ohlsen has her degree in paint and decorating from the St. Paul Vocational Technical Institute. She started Darla's Decorating in 1986. Darla specializes in hanging high end wallpapers, interior painting, faux finishes and wallpaper removal. For both residential and commercial projects. "It's all about having a satisfied customer. I work close with my clients to transform their space with color and design!"

Amy Ouradnik

Amy graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a degree in Fine Art/Printmaking. After two years spent traveling in Europe and Asia, she then worked for 10 years installing artwork in local museums and galleries, including the Minneapolis Institute of Art, The Fredrick Weisman Museum and the Minnesota Museum of Modern Art.

Amy furthered her training in the decorative arts by studying with world renown instructors such as Lynne Rutter, Pierre La Fumat, Pascal Amblard, and many others at the North American School of Decorative Art.

In 1993, she founded Aurora Decorative Finishes and has continued to work with a talented group of fellow artisans and designers in the Twin Cites area and around the country, including major projects in Boston, Algona and Naples, FL. Her passion is authentic lime plasters, silver and gold leaf applications and cabinet refinishing.

Committed to constantly improving her skill set, Amy regularly trains with some of the best decorative painters in the world. In the summer of 2010, she took a course in Decorative Arts and Morroccan Tadelakt at the Atelier de Philippe Chastel in Amboise, France. And, in an effort to offer even more comprehensive services to her clients, she is currently working on her degree in Interior Design at Century College.

Theresa M. Parnell

Theresa Parnell is an accomplished decorative finisher, teacher, and fine artist. Theresa earned her Fine Arts degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Theresa has operated her own business for over 20 years and specializes in murals, plasters,and decorative finishes. She has focused her custom work on residential interior decorative painting. She has embellished a wide variety of surfaces, including hardwood floors, tile, furniture, sisal rugs, walls and ceilings. Theresa's work has been featured in several ASID Showcase homes, magazines and HGTV. She instructed classes at two decorative painting schools and at IDAL International Convention in Chicago, IL. She was instrumental in the start up of the Northern Territory Artisans chapter in Minnesota.

Carlos is a decorative interior painter with nine years of hands-on experience with a broad range of decorative finishes, from traditional venetian plaster to the most sophisticated custom finishes. He is always committed to delivering the same craftsmanship and enthusiasm whether it is for a lobby in a commercial building or for an accent wall in your home. He joined NTA and IDAL in 2009 which have helped him to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and products, as well as to pursue his passion for decorative painting.

Beth Schafer

Beth Schafer-Swinton has been serving her clients since 1995 with an array of beautiful custom finishes. Her focus has been on Architectural Plasters which includes lime and acrylic based Venetians, Metallics, Japanese including Pattan, Kyoto, Kia (a beautiful sea shell plaster) and many more. She also installs tile and stone. She is able to add eccentric design to otherwise plain back splashes and floors. Her eye for color and texture is impeccable. She is truly devoted to pleasing her client by creating a beautiful atmosphere to reside in. She is available commercially and residentially. Her home is Minnesota but has shared her work in many states through out the USA.

Andreas Scholz

Artistic Finishes by Andreas, established as a premiere faux finishing company, has provided unique decorative finishes to the twin cities for more than ten years. Born and raised in Calgary, Andreas began painting at an early age and continued through graduation from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. Now more focused on European finishes, his artistry is influenced by teaching he received at SAIT, Vandalae Studios in Seattle, Vigini Studios in San Antonio, and The Finishing School in New York and Pennsylvania. Building on his broad portfolio, his work has helped houses showcased in the Parade of Homes win Trillium, Reggie design and People's Choice awards around the Twin Cities. Artistic Finishes by Andreas persists as a leader in specialty finishes, developing professional and lasting relationships with his clients, including interior designers, builders, home owners and businesses around the area.
